Louise Roche talks on the telephone while her brother, Stephen Kumisk, comforts her. Louise's husband, Bob Roche (left), was injured in a car accident 10 years ago. He has been in a vegetative state since the accident. He spent the first year after the accident in a nursing home, but Louise decided to move him home after deciding that he was not receiving proper care. Louise arranged for her brother, who was a nurse in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to come to the United States to be Bob's full-time caregiver.
