Amish Doctor

Dr. Pete Bainbridge, a physician who treats the Amish and Mennonite population of eastern Ohio, catches up with the Burkholder family during a Saturday evening home visit. Lillian, 4, uses a breathing machine to clear her congested chest while Linford, 8, talks to Bainbridge about his new tractor toy while Louella, 7, Louann, 3, and Lucy listen. The Burkholders are Old Order Mennonites and have electricity in their home, but when Dr. Bainbridge takes the breathing machine to an Amish household, the machine is powered by a foot pump.
